X Factor’s One Direction announce American tour dates and US release date for debut album
One Direction have announced the dates for their first American tour.
The boyband took the UK by storm, after finishing in third place on The X Factor last year. They went on to break sales records with the release of their debut single ‘That’s What Makes You Beautiful,’ and their first album ‘Up All Night’ got to the number two spot in the charts. One D now hope to replicate that success in the US.
Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zain Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson recently signed a deal with Columbia Records and today the label announced that the record “Up All Night” is set for a U.S. release on March 20, 2012. The boyband will also be performing as the opening act for Big Time Rush on a North American tour.
A statement from Columbia stated:
One Direction will join the North American leg of the Big Time Rush “Better With U Tour” beginning February 24th in Chicago. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. Fans can also bring One Direction to their city in their brilliant and innovative Bring1D To U.S. campaign. I hate the fact that everyone is like yey one direction is on a tour when theyre not. You guys should put really theyre performing like 2 songs at the beginning at BIG TIME RUSH’s TOUR NOT 1D . Get over it.
A true fan wouldn’t care if they only came for a half a song at least they came! Who knows when they will come back, they love their london…
Acctually, due to popular demand, One Direction will be Co Headlining the tour with BTR. Meaning they will sing just as many songs, and have more merchandise available at the concert, just like Big Time Rush.

I can tell you, you’re not their biggest fan because they live in England and always have. Also you can’t have watched The X Factor when they were on it like their real fans because you live in America. This means you didn’t go to the X Factor tour or waited for them outside the Holiday Inn and countless other things that their REAL UK fans did. This means that you’re just one of these silly little fans that only loved them when they became famous worldwide with their song What Makes You Beautiful. It’s great that One Direction has so many fans and all but unless you can say that you’ve been with them from the start (like many British people can!), you can’t really say that you’re their biggest fan! This goes for all people who would say that they’re 1D’s biggest fan when they never even watched X Factor! Thank you I hope you never make the same dreadful mistake again because it makes me crack up with laughter! LOL

To that person who thinks that just because we’re not from the UK we aren’t real One Direction fans, YOU ARE WRONG!!! I followed the progress of the guys on X Factor through tumblr so you can’t tell me that I have not been there from the beginning because I have and I will be there if they ever stop famous so you are dismissed. And to the girls who don’t want them to be known in the US stfu. You’re not a true fan if you don’t want them to become more famous in the US. A real fan would want them to become as big as possible so their dreams could come true. I hope they come on tour to California soon. I love these guys so much and I seriously can’t wait for them. i agree with the girl who said about the bloody americans thinking you’re their “biggest fan!”. fair enough if you’re a fan, we all knew it was gonna happen sooner or later, but, i genuinely don’t think it’s fair for you to think yourselves bigger fans than us UK and Irish fans who have been there from the start, voting every week, using all OUR minutes/credit. this goes for the fans in UK and Ireland who only became fans after WMYB was first heard in august, so i’m not aiming this just at international fans. the reason we don’t want them to “crack” america, is because in the UK, when you’re famous, you’re also a person and much more down to earth, but if you’re famous in america, most of the time you’re just made into a product, and we obviously don’t want that. ugh, just wish we could go back to the time period between the x factor and either forever young or what makes you beautiful, when they weren’t worldwide famous and it was like they were our little secret, but of course that’s not going to happen. and don’t even try telling me i don’t want them to be successful, because of course i do, i’m just sick of the fact that when they go to other countries, they’re allowed to go and chat with the fans, but here we barely get to glance at them for 2 seconds without being assaulted by security, when we’re the ones who got them where they fucking are today. sick of management, sick of fake fans and worldwide “i’m your biggest fan!” fans.
