Bookies are tipping the X factor 2005 winner Shayne Ward to win the coveted Christmas Number One spot with his new single ‘That’s My Goal’.

The single will be released on CD tomorrow (Wednesday 21st December) but has been available for download since late Saturday night.

William Hill have now slashed his odds of topping the chart from 1/7 to 1/9.

“Even at these odds we are still taking weighty bets on Shayne and it now looks like a certainty that he will have the Christmas number one.

“If it carries on like this we might even close the betting,” said spokesman Rupert Adams.

William Hill are also offering odds of 8/1 that Shayne will have the top-selling album of the year.
