Eighty two year old William Hooper didn’t try to play the sob story angle on Saturday night’s X Factor. Unlike many other contestants who would do anything to succeed, William didn’t tell the judges about the hardships in his life.

William currently cares for his 70 year old wife, who after suffering from a stroke, can no longer speak.

He told The Sun: “She is wonderful. Her speech has gone but she smiles at everyone.”

William will next be seen in X Factor’s bootcamp, I can’t see him getting through to the live shows though, can you?
