Ok so Adam Lambert fans have been waiting for what feels like forever for him to return to the stage with Queen and last night all their wishes finally came true.
The American Idol star revealed over the summer that he would be teaming up with the legendary British rock back once more for a gig at the iHeart Radio music festival in Las Vegas and guitarist Brian May more than whetted our appetites last week when he tweeted from rehearsals about Adam’s ‘stupendous’ voice.
Details of their set list and plans for the 35 minute segment were very much kept under wraps and by yesterday morning all we knew was that the supergroup would be joined by fun.’s Nate Ruess on stage and that they may perform “Somebody to Love” and “Fat Bottomed Girls”.
We may be biased, as you guys know how much we love Mr Lambert but we think last night’s gig surpassed even the highest expectations and not only did Adam shine vocally, but his vibe and dynamic with the rest of the band was so enjoyable that we were devastated when the performance came to it’s show stopping end.
The rumours were right in the end and Ruess did join Lambert, May, Taylor and co, duetting with Adam on Queen’s classic song ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’.
Check out some Youtube footage of ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ below but our favourite from the set was, without a doubt, Who Wants To Live Forever.
While Adam really does do upbeat numbers incredibly well, we always enjoy his more emotional renditions so much….we have to admit, we felt a little bit teary when listening to this.
We always want to hear what you think, so have a watch of the videos and let us know what you think in the comments section below…
