Jennifer Lopez and Taylor swift have reportedly decided to collaborate on a brand new song.

The pair apparently hit it off when they performed with one another at one of Swift’s American concerts last month and US Weekly reports that they will hit the studio in the near future to lay down a new duet, which will be featured on J Lo’s new album.

The American Idol judge and ‘Red’ hitmaker first joined forces on August 25 when Lopez surprised fans at Taylor’s concert and took to the stage to perform her old song “Jenny From the Block” with Swifty.

Swift tweeted her fans at the time saying:

“Sang Jenny From the Block with @JLo tonight at Staples Center. STILL FANGIRLING OUT ABOUT IT,”

Lopez replied, saying she had “so much fun” at the gig.

Jennifer is currently working on her eighth studio album and it’s thought that if she and Tay get the track recorded on time, we could be looking at a live performance from them on the new season of American Idol next year.

Meanwhile, Taylor headed off to Canada last night, to attend the movie premiere for ‘One Chance.’ The biopic stars James Corden as Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts and it was recently revealed that Taylor penned a special track for the soundtrack.

She tweeted last night saying:

Meanwhile American Idol judge Harry Connick Jr has been helping J Lo to boost her online profile and tweeted his fans saying:
