Bars and Melody were the runaway favourites to win tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent show and they certainly loved up to the hype when they performed on the last outing of the ITV series this evening.
The teenage singers have become a worldwide phenomenon, clocking up more than 30 million hits on their first audition video and even travelling to America last month to make an appearance on the Ellen Show.
Ever since then bookies have been backing them to win the entire series and somehow, Charlie and Leondre have managed to take it all in their stride, without succumbing to nerves and the massive pressure.
The boys have amassed a massive Twitter following already and were busy tweeting their 145k followers throughout the day, pleading for support and votes.
The boys posted: “Who wants a follow? Tweet the hashtag #BarsAndMelodyToWinBGT RT”
The lads like to pen their own lyrics and tunes and there have already been reports that Simon Cowell has signed them up for an album deal. So if they do win tonight, the £250,000 prize money will just be the icing on the cake!
The boys told the team this evening:
“It’s like a different life. We are just kids and we are doing all this amazing stuff. The song is about bullying and we want people to listen to our message and hear that they’re not alone.”
“It is amazing to be in the final we couldn’t have asked for anything better. It has to be the biggest and best performance of our lives.”
DAVID WALLIAMS: You smashed it tonight, I am so glad you sang that tonight for us. We could be looking at the winners!
ALESHA DIXON: I just could burst for you. I love you guys. Your vocals were so good. I agree with David.
AMANDA HOLDEN: Music aside, you are so talented, as people your mum and dad must be so proud. You are so well brought up, you have lovely personalities. I think people will vote for you tonight.
SIMON COWELL: I have got to tell you, it was a great performance. It was from the heart and it was real. You are the nicest, sweetest kids I have ever met and I hope Eric turns out like you.
