Britain’s Got Talent 2013 results: Francine Lewis and Asanda Jezile through to finals!

by Gerard McGarry

Did one of your favourite acts get through to the Britain’s Got Talent final after tonight? We’ll get to that part soon.

It was a mixed bag on BGT tonight, as several acts truly shone. We’re thinking impressionist Francine Lewis and magician James More pretty much stole the show tonight with incredible routines. Francine was on sparkling form as always and wowed us with her Sharon Osbourne voice, not to mention a Nadine Coyle impersonation that still has us in crinkles! James More got the honour of being dubbed the best magic act ever to perform on BGT.

First up though, Olly Murs gave a live performance of his album’s title track, Right Place, Right Time. After he sang, Ant & Dec asked Olly who his favourite acts of the night were. Guess what? He agreed with us – Francine and James. Cool. We’re on the same wavelength as Olly Murs!

The judges also got to give us their opinions. David Walliams hedged his bets when he was asked if the overall winner had performed tonight. He namechecked Francine and Asanda in particular. Amanda Holden said her shortlist for the final was just one person: Joseph. Simon on the other hand felt that there were at least five acts that could viably make it through tonight, something he said at the end of the first live show.

The Results

francine lewisDrumroll time…let’s find out who’s been eliminated first. Poppin Ron (predictably) is popping off home. Chasing The Dream are chasing the next bus home. Alex Keirl is in the top three. And here’s a shock – the Shockarellas are going home too. Francine Lewis scores herself a ticket while the Clubtown Freaks are eliminated.

Shockingly, magician James More is eliminated too, as well as show closers AJ and Chloe. Asanda Jezile is the third act in the Top 3.

Francine Lewis is the outright winner of tonight’s semi-final. She slips into a Stacey Solomon “OMG! I cawnt believe it!” voice! It’s not down to Alex Keirl and Asanda Jezile. David Walliams tells Ant & Dec that the two singers are both equally good. He votes Asanda through, which – based on stage presence – is the right decision. Alesha agrees and chooses Asanda too.

Amanda Holden opts to save Alex, leaving the casting vote with Simon Cowell. Simon shockingly chooses Asanda. Only shocking in that we thought he would go for the audience vote to make the decision. So Asanda Jezile is through to the finals along with Francine Lewis! Was this the right move? Let us know in the comments!
