We thought there was a bit of a bromance going on between Simon Cowell and David Walliams but apparently there is more tension running between the pair than we’d realised.

The men have been hugging and cuddling a LOT this year at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions and just a few days ago David was sitting on his boss’s knee, while the music mogul wrapped his arms around his waist as the audience cheered.

However some insiders have claimed that a lot of the banter is just for the cameras and that actually, Simon is getting a little fed up with Walliams’ personal and risqué jokes.

The Little Britain star has frequently been making gay jokes and questioning Simon’s sexuality and while the X Factor boss doesn’t want to look like a bad sport, a source told Star Magazine that he’s getting to the end of his tether with the camp comic.

The pair reportedly argued about the issue, when the tryouts were staged in The London Palladium. The insider revealed:

“Simon was fuming. He thinks David’s jokes are good fun most of the time, but when it gets personal, he draws the line.”

The added:

“He’s told David he needs to keep his mouth firmly shut on such matters as his private life.”

“Simon doesn’t like being made to look silly. he won’t stand for it”

Walliams doesn’t seem to be taking too much notice and after the London auditions he took to Twitter to tease:

“I just saw Louis Walsh by chance on the street. He said he was off to see my Simon, and I felt a little pang of jealousy…”

When the team started in Manchester he added:

“My Simon’s here…! So happy. x”

David recently admitted that he doesn’t care if people think he’s gay and he thinks Cowell should get over the issue too.

“I work with Simon Cowell – a lot of people say he’s gay. He’s not but it will follow him until the day he dies. What’s the point of worrying about it?” Walliams told Metro.

“There’s nothing wrong with being gay, so if people say I am, it doesn’t bother me. I’m not going to sue about that. I’d sue if people said I was a rapist.”
