Just before presenter Declan Donnelly – who of course co-hosts I’m A Celeb and Saturday Night Takeaway with Ant McPartlin – jetted off to Australia in November of last year, he went public over his romance with manager Ali Astall, telling the media, “I couldn’t be happier.”

We went into a period of mourning that the pocket-rocket star was off the market, so we may now need to consider self-harming as it’s been reported that Dec is set to propose to Ali.

According to the Daily Star Sunday, a friend of the loved up couple said, “Ali moved in to Dec’s a couple of months ago…

“Ali’s place is being rented out so it looks pretty permanent.

“Dec has told friends he thinks Ali is ‘the one’ and they will get married and start a family.

“They’re both head-over-heels in love and it’s only a ¬matter of time before they walk down the aisle together.”

When quizzed about his romance with Ali, Dec recently said, “Things couldn’t be better for me at the minute,” and the insider added, “Dec and Ali are the real deal.

“None of their friends would be surprised if an engagement followed later this year.

“They couldn’t be happier and moving in together is just the first step to building a life ¬together.”

However, a spokesman for Dec said that he “does not comment” on the Geordie star’s private life.

When the news of Dec’s romance with Ali first broke, he said, “I am attached. Yes I am. And I’m very happy.

“That’s what’s really nice because everything at home is great and work is really busy.

“We’ve got three shows – Takeaway, I’m A Celebrity and Britain’s Got Talent – firing on all cylinders.

“With the Takeaway tour coming out we are really excited about next year.”
