Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden says of Simon Cowell, “I hope his son gives him hell!”

Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell on Britain's Got Talent 2013a

The jokey banter between Britain’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon is of course one of the things that makes the show so entertaining…

And while speaking backstage at the Pride of Britain Awards – which was filmed last night and will air on ITV tonight at 8pm – Amanda has upped the ante in terms of the aforementioned banter by saying of Simon Cowell’s baby, “I hope his son gives him hell!”

However, first, Amanda reiterated that she thinks Simon will be an “amazing dad,” telling the Mirror, “All I’ve said before is that I think he underestimates how much he’s going to love that baby, and how much he’s just gonna do anything and everything for it, and how life will utterly change.

“It doesn’t matter how much help he can afford or the other things he keeps joking about, and joking about leaving all his money to various dog’s homes, none of that will happen.

“He’ll fall in love with that baby and that will be it. That will be who his true love is in his life.”

She added, “He’s great with children, out of all of us, I think he’s the best. The least patronising and the funniest, he’s really good.

“And because he’s had a good life and been very mischievous, I hope it’ll be payback…

“I hope his son gives him hell!”

And finally, of those who received awards at the ceremony last night – which is annually a guaranteed tearjerker – Amanda said, “All of those kind of stories are really inspirational.

“General stories of courage and how people fight on you know.”

And of shedding a few tears herself, she added, “I’ll be a mess. I’m always a blinking mess, it’s embarrassing!”
