Dancing On Ice 2013: Luke Campbell appeals to bosses to reinstate Gareth Thomas! And Pamela Anderson’s back for this weekend’s final!

Fans of Dancing On Ice will of course know that last weekend, the controversial decision to drop rugby star Gareth Thomas from the show following a bout of illness prompted a furore among viewers and indeed backstage…

The shock decision – which was made after Gareth was too ill to perform in the skate off – meant that Olympic stars Beth Tweddle and Luke Campbell and actor Matt Lapinskas automatically went through to this weekend’s final.

And although Gareth will in fact perform this weekend in a group medley skate, he of course won’t be in with a chance of winning…

The Sun reports that when he learned he was automatically through to the final, Luke was upset and felt that he hadn’t “earned” his place in the last stages of the contest.

He said of Gareth, “They should have put all four through.”

Of last weekend’s dramatic turn of events, Luke’s fellow contestant Matt said, “It was chaos backstage.

“We didn’t know we were skating again until we heard Phillip say it.”

I guess it remains to be seen how that debacle pans out, but one thing’s for sure and it’s that Pamela Anderson has returned to the ice to train for her part in the group performances for tomorrow night.

TV Biz reports, “Tomorrow night Pam and partner Matt Evers will take part in a medley with other contestants.”

A show source said, “Though it’s not a full performance. Pam’s been rehearsing hard to get it right.”

She of course left the contest in the first week after a stumble and a wardrobe malfunction saw her being the first to be voted off.

Here’s a reminder of Pam talking about that shock result, but please do let us know if you think Gareth should be reinstated as a contestant for the final…
