Dancing On Ice 2013: Samia Ghadie says training with Sylvain Longchambon doesn’t feel like work! (well, it wouldn’t, would it?)

Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie has revealed, somewhat tactlessly, that she is currently having a blast training for this year’s Dancing On Ice.

The actress, who has dominated the headlines for the last week or so after it emerged that her professional skating partner, Sylvain Longchambon, had callously dumped his girlfriend of two years, Hollyoaks beauty Jennifer Metcalfe, after developing strong feelings for Samia, has gone on national television to reveal that skating with the French champ “doesn’t feel like work!”

Speaking to ITV’s This morning the star, who plays crimper Maria Connor on the hit ITV soap, revealed how much fun she is having, despite her training for the hugely popular skating competition, which is due to start on Sunday, overlapping with her Corrie commitments!

She said: “We are supposed to do two hours [of training] a day, five times a week but I’m still filming Corrie at the same time so before Christmas I was doing sixteen hour days because I was training before Corrie and then doing a twelve hour day there.

“But it’s all good – I’m actually enjoying it so it doesn’t feel like work.”

Both Samia and Sylvain have denied that they are seeing each other, a story collaborated by sources close to them, who did comment that they wouldn’t be surprised if a romance developed soon however.

Meanwhile Sylvain’s gutted ex, Jennifer, has declared revenge on the pair, and has even revealed she may still use her front row tickets to Dancing On Ice to make them feel uncomfortable, as well as hinting she would be having it out with Samia on the National TV Awards red carpet later this month.

Also talking on the show was The Only Way Is Essex star, Lauren Goodger, who admitted that what she was most looking forward to was the costumes and sparkles.

She said: “I’m looking forward to all the glitz and the glam and all the tan! My skating is getting there. I love all the makeup and that, the skating’s gonna come after!”

Meanwhile former X Factor hunk, Shayne Ward, showed his feminine side when he declared the pink tops and camp styling didn’t worry him.

He said, “I did a year in full leather and sparkly tops [on stage] so I’m used to that to be honest! I’m looking forward to it.”
