I’m A Celebrity 2012: Helen Flanagan sparks outrage by posing with a gun to her head just days after Sandy Hook massacre

Former I’m A Celebrity and Corrie star Helen Flanagan has prompted outrage after posting a picture of herself on Twitter that depicts her wearing lingerie while holding a gun to her head.

Helen posted the picture – which she captioned, “Head F**k” – to Twitter just days after the school massacre in Connecticut in which crazed gunman Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 children and 6 adults.

The Sun reports that a parent whose children attended Sandy Hook school branded Helen’s picture, “brainless stupidity.”

He added, “It’s just ignorant. When the eyes of the world are on what happened here, to be posing with a gun like that is insensitive and stupid.”

And Garrett Gloss, a Newtown resident added, “This is plain wrong. You can’t do this.

“It looks like she is just trying to get her name out there.”

Apparently, Helen first posted the image in October, but she decided to re-publish it on Monday.

The paper adds, “It was later removed from Twitter but last night was still being displayed at an online picture storage site.”

Helen reportedly declined to comment last night, but she tweeted, “I was so hungover yesterday.”

Personally, I don’t believe that Helen meant to cause any upset or offence, and if I had to guess, I’d say it simply didn’t occur to her what a furore the image could cause.

But on the subject of the larger issue of guns, President Obama has of course vowed to bring in new laws to control the sale and distribution of assault weapons, however, a supplier claimed recently that since the Connecticut shootings, sales of guns have gone through the roof.

North Carolina gun store owner Larry Hyatt said, “We already have tons of customers because of Christmas and the hunting season is peaking.

“But this tragedy is pushing sales through the roof.”

Here’s a reminder of a recent news report about the horrendous shooting…
