Scarlett Moffatt to take over presenting duties on I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp?

We’re still months and months away from I’m A Celebrity returning to ITV but it sounds like there could be a change to the presenting line-up for spinoff show ‘Extra Camp’. Could former Gogglebox star and I’m A Celebrity winner, Scarlett Moffatt be taking over?

Last year there was a massive shake-up to the ITV2 spinoff show when it as announced that Laura Whitmore would be vacating her role as the main presenter on the show. At that point, Vicky Pattison was having a pretty great run with her revamped image, and so the execs snapped her up to present the show, which had also had a bit of a name change from ‘Get Me Out Of Here Now!’ to ‘Extra Camp’.

However, Vicky Pattison didn’t go down too well with viewers to begin with, but things did get smoother further into the series. There were a few times where things were messed up and it just felt a bit clunky in places. However, since then, Vicky has said that she would love to return to Australia this year to do the show again. Let’s face it, every show with a new presenter or a revamp in some way can experience a few teething problems.

Since her winning stint on I’m A Celebrity last year, Scarlett Moffatt has had a major rise to the top. She’s gone from being a star on Gogglebox to being a star in her own right. What’s more, she’s proven to be very popular with the public and execs alike with TV offers being thrown at her left, right, and centre. Scarlett is set to present a revamped version of Street Mate, she’s working on a pilot with Alan Carr, and she also had a successful run on Saturday Night Takeaway.

Now, rumours suggest she is in the running to take over the main duties on ‘Extra Camp’ if Vicky Pattison does not return. The Mirror newspaper has quoted a source as saying that whilst Vicky is charismatic, Scarlett’s “appeal is broader and she’s proved what a natural she is in front of the camera in recent months”.

Just last week Vicky said that no official decision had been made about Extra Camp yet. She also added that it was “a quote that’s gone on record from both my management and everyone at ITV’, so it looks like this really is just one big rumour at the moment.

As you can expect, an ITV spokesperson has said that no decisions have been made about Extra Camp quite yet, but it is still very early on.

Would you like to see Scarlett Moffatt take over the reins on the show, or do you think Vicky Pattison should return? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
