The Apprentice star Stella English going into I’m A Celeb jungle? But Splash! mentor Tom Daley won’t be eating gonads. Sigh

As we reported recently, former Apprentice star Stella English was spotted visiting up-market London store Harrods, just hours after appearing on ITV breakfast show Daybreak, claiming her legal battle with business mogul Lord Alan Sugar – which she lost – had left her flat broke…

However, it seems the answer to her financial woes may be found in the scrotal sack of a kangaroo or an ostrich – or even a camel – as it’s been claimed today that ITV bosses are keen to sign her up to take part in the new series of their hit show, I’m A Celebrity, which of course sees the famous campers eating a stomach churning variety of Bushtucker.

An I’m A Celeb insider told the Daily Star Sunday, “Jungle producers are really keen to sign Stella.

“She’s just lost a high-profile battle with Lord Sugar which makes her TV gold right now.

“Stella’s basically claiming The Apprentice ruined her life, which would make great viewing if she dished the dirt.

“It would also be a good way for ITV to have a little dig at Lord Sugar and rival channel BBC.”

However, the source added, “Although nothing is finalised yet, producers are confident Stella will sign on the dotted line.

“It’s a great opportunity to ease her money worries and repair her image.”

But it seems that Olympic diver and Splash! mentor Tom Daley has turned down an offer of £250,000 to appear on I’m A Celeb.

The show source said of Tom, “He already has TV commitments with the second series of celeb diving show Splash! as well as a fly-on-the-wall documentary series.

“His team didn’t want any more distractions.”

I’d have loved to see how Tom did in the jungle! I think he’d have been a ‘have a go at everything’ sort.  But other names linked to this year’s jungle series so far include Paul Gascoigne, Corrie star Michael Le Vell and Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter.

We’ll keep you posted when we know more, but for now, here’s a reminder of last year’s show…
