Chelsey Harwood denies This Is Liverpool cancellation as she becomes the victim of online abuse

Scousers livid as This Is Liverpool shows sleazy romps, boobs & lots of bums!

We reported yesterday that E4 were preparing themselves for a bit of a backlash, as they moved towards the launch date for their new series, This Is Liverpool.

A trailer for the show was released on Monday and by last night it had been viewed more than 600,000 times. Community leaders from the area were up in arms and launched a petition and a number of Facebook pages in a bid to have the show banned.

This Is Liverpool was set to air it’s pilot in two week’s time and if the ratings were good, bosses were hoping to run with a full series.

The preview clip showed young Liverpool hopefuls stripping off, fighting in the street and hitting the clubs and while production company Phenomenal TV claim to have focused on ‘real people’ and an ‘honest’ view of the city, many local people blasted the trailer, saying it’s showing them in a sleazy light.

This morning The Daily Star reported that Channel 4 bosses have decided not to screen the pilot after all.

Execs were said to be concerned the show would become the “new Benefits Street” and cause furore amongst Scousers.

However show star Chelsey Harwood has denied the claims.

Chelsey Harwood This Is Liverpool

Harwood has become quite the centre of attention, after she was seen in the trailer admitting that she was born a boy.

She insists that interest in the show has already been ‘massive’ and that despite the petitions and protests, This Is Liverpool will be coming to our screens very, very soon.

The blonde Liverpudlian has already had a taste of fame but it hasn’t been a wholly positive experience. She’s become the target of internet trolls and haters and her Facebook page was filled with abusive comments last night. Chelsey was branded a dog, a tramp and much, much worse.

The show hasn’t aired and Harwood has been forced to defend herself already. She posted last night saying:

“Before calling me a disgrace to liverpool try looking at what you are writing to me pages and pages of hate mail and for what exactly?? Daring to be different i feel sorry for your kids more than myself”

Have a watch of the This Is Liverpool trailer and let us know what you think below….

  1. Real Scousers against the showing of 'This Is Liverpool' on February 27, 2014 at 9:37 am

This is great news for the people of our wonderful city.
Let’s hope that no other tv channels take the risk, as I really do think it would be business suicide.

Bravo to the people of Liverpool, I salute you !
    You made this happen !

  2. sue on February 27, 2014 at 9:54 am

she is a disgrace! she has become a target because of her videos she has been posting! if i was her mother i would wash her mouth out with soap!! she should not be seen or heard and should NOT be representing our city! disgrace

  3. michelle on February 27, 2014 at 10:14 am

No one cares that she is different, the abuse is for her foul mouth, she hits out aggressively through video’s, what does she expect in return? Politeness- i think not.
This trailer is not about Liverpool at all, it shows amateur fame hungry individuals who in my experience, are far too young to know any history of Liverpool at it’s best, let alone represent this great city.
The best thing for this, is for it to be thrown in the trash!!

  4. ANGRY BIRD on February 27, 2014 at 10:23 am

She is a disgrace, making out as if she was bullied and targeted because of her gender issue when it doesn’t matter what she is or how she chooses to live bottom line is she is one horrible nasty vile person and the way she behaves and the things she says are vile and vulgar!!! She deserves everything she gets and is a fame whore who is loving all this attention !

  5. Ian Wilson on February 27, 2014 at 10:26 am

Its nothing to do with Chelsey being born a boy its to do with the portrayal of Liverpool and its people. A city which has been voted 3rd best to visit in the world so why try and tarnish it????
You say real people why is it then you have a lad who is an actor in it. I know this because I work with him. The people who have made and starred in this need to be ashamed

  6. lynda on February 27, 2014 at 10:33 am

She is awful, she has a vile mouth a bad attitude and freely admits to prostituting herself. Im sorry but the videos of her inserting different objects inside of herself are hardly mainstream. She most certainly does not represent any liverpool I know, I really hope that channel 4 think twice about showing this, liverpool has been the butt of jokes for a long time and I think we deserve some good press for once. THIS DOES NOT REPRESENT TRUE LIVERPOOL!!!!

  7. donna on February 27, 2014 at 10:34 am

im not a scouser but i would be more disgusted in the vermin bullies who are trolling this woman and i know as a mother i would be more ashamed of them than i would be of a tv programme, vile creatures !!!

  8. Fox Particles on February 27, 2014 at 10:43 am

I have to agree. I for one am tired of seeing the people of Liverpool as a joke.
It is such a beautiful city and i think it is sad that whenever a programme is made to represent us, we are always portrayed as aggressive Idiots.

I respect creators wanting to act and get involved in projects for liverpool, but not when it is showing us in an untrue light, This is Liverpool is a very strong statement.

i think If they want to air the show they should change the name and put it in the comedy genre so that people don not get offended.

  9. Jan on February 27, 2014 at 10:45 am

I have nothing against Chelsey being born a boy! I am against her vile and vulgar comments about the people of Liverpool though; including our Lord Mayer! She will never be a true representative of our city and should never be portrayed as being so. Her responding comments on her video to the people of Liverpool who have been protesting against the showing of this show said it all…….

  10. donna d on February 27, 2014 at 10:47 am

i think the people of liverpool are being hypercritical bullying a woman for dragging the city down, all you vile bullies are what is wrong with your city, disgusting behaviour !!!

  11. Jan on February 27, 2014 at 10:59 am

People are not bullying her, they are stating what they feel in response to her comments! There is nothing wrong with our city either, hence why we don’t want the show to go on!

  12. Jenny on February 27, 2014 at 11:02 am

I’m more hurt that most of the girls in the video are fame hungry wannabe wags who are dressed were boobs hanging out trying to make a name for themselves thro acting like there living a champaign life on lemonade wages so real people who go to town and drink shots not sitting there with bottles of champaign acting like footballers wives and looking down there nose at people this is not liverpool it’s a small group of desperate young fame hungry girls

  13. Sean on February 27, 2014 at 11:03 am

Bullying is not acceptable today and it shouldn’t have been acceptable in the past but Chelsey has brought it on herself . She is a bad attention seeker , she first made videos of herself miming to Whitney Houston videos on YouTube and got angry when people started commentating saying she was a man . She denied it , angrily saying she was a woman , she carried on denying it before admitting she was a boy . Then she started putting videos of herself on Twitter having sex and inserting things up her self and now she has attacked the city of Liverpool and its fantastic people cos we are disgusted at a programme which looks terrible. She needs to realise we don’t have a problem with transgenders, but we don’t accept a program that is going to bring attention to the city because of bad attention seeking people who will do anything for there 15 mins of fame. Chelsea is getting well known now for what she is though.. A vile person

  14. Real scouse bird on February 27, 2014 at 11:28 am

She is hardly the victim in this, she gives as good as she gets and then some. I am from the liverpool LGBT community and I don’t agree with the vile things people have said to her but her mouth is just as bad about others.

  15. Michael on February 27, 2014 at 11:29 am

Have any of use seen geordie shore or the valleys?
Im guessing that you’s haven’t and to go on like this over a 80 second trailer is unbelievable.
if they make a show out of them selfs it’s their problem, as for people saying it’s a disgrace to our city come on least they’re doing some thing to show how much they love liverpool.
All the people giving black lash and hating on them isn’t showing our city in a good light. So sit back relax and shut you’re mouths cause clearly if it gets a slot on e4 or any oter channel clearly you’s are going to watch it.

  16. Dave on February 27, 2014 at 11:38 am

Isn’t there enough rubbish on tv without adding to it. Surely there are so many other formats for a tv show about Liverpool that would have a much more positive impact. If you want to see disgusting ego maniacs, there’s plenty of them on MTV.

  17. Lilya on February 27, 2014 at 11:40 am

I have recently been terrorised by Chelsey and her followers as she didn’t take my advice on tattoo aftercare; subsequently this caused me to almost lose my job and I have lost hundreds of clients because of the horrible lies she has been saying. We used to be good friends and I always defended her, and then she did this. She used to be a great person, but recently she just likes to bully anyone who disagrees with her.

  18. Petal on February 27, 2014 at 11:47 am

Do people honestly think this will set Liverpool in a bad light? Its like saying all those from Newcastle are like the the wannabe’s off Geordie shore – they are not, a sensible person would know the difference. If you don’t want to watch it dont. No one will force you too. But to abuse (and it is abuse) someone on a public network site is nothing short of bullying. You cannot say bullying is not acceptable then go on to say “they brought it on themsleves”!! Only a retard would say such a thing. The sad fact is that the comments are made by people with a shifty past themselves, woman who have had kids out of wedlock, some have kids to different fathers. Men who feel threatened by someone else’s sexuality etc etc They are all making a far worse example on their children than Chelsey or any of the other cast could ever do. Keyboard Warriors that need to concentrate on their children and their upbringing and getting off their backside and getting a job! How about spending the time with their children instead of sitting on a public network site every hour, waiting for an opportunity to voice their hate crime views! Its these people who are showing Liverpool in a bad light, not the cast.

  19. shellyo on February 27, 2014 at 12:26 pm

Ok i see a few comments on there that are a bit harsh, the thing is, i saw the video’s of her giving out abuse to the people of Liverpool and the vile language she was coming out with was inappropriate, did she mentiuon this to her bosses or show the video she put up of her slagging us scousers off? no, she didn’t, so if she cannot take it, she shouldn’t dish it out, so now Chelsey, get them vids up and show them the reason WHY you got abuse, no smoke without fire girl…

  20. shellyo on February 27, 2014 at 12:27 pm

  21. shellyo on February 27, 2014 at 12:34 pm

Donna, you haven’t seen the video’s of what this person is doing, so i suggest you do before accusing people of bullying…she wasn’t being bullied, she brought this on herself, until you see the vids, then think again, is it any wonder why people are giving her grief

  22. shellyo on February 27, 2014 at 12:36 pm

Sue i completely agree, think before you speak is my motto, if she hadn’t have posted them vids, none of this would have happened….it’s her own fault and i think she should be fired because she is the one who made the show get axed, no one else…

  23. Hannah on February 27, 2014 at 12:37 pm

Everyone is saying that she’s an attention seeker right? Everyone’ who retaliates is making her this way. So if you don’t like her, unfollow her! Leave her be…. Everyone is being as bad as her being a troll to her. Need to get a grip…. I personally love her! She’s so brave to what she has done, been through & going through. She stands up for rights. Having 4 best gay mates I understand this. I think it will be an eye opener but she’s a very brave woman!!… The trailer is 80seconds long & everyone’s got something to say, how about not judging! I hope this reality show goes well to spite all those negative comments!

  24. shellyo on February 27, 2014 at 12:47 pm

she is an attention seeker, just coz she WAS gonna be on telly in some show, she got cocky..but her video’s of her slagging the people of Liverpool off, her own people is out of order, then she goes whinging to her bosses saying she’s been bullied, NO ONE has bullied her, it’s her own fault, if she’d have kept her big gob shut then none of this would be happening, no one attacked her before the vids were shown, so yeah, she is an attention seeker and NO she is not a victim of bullying, she was quite happy to get a video out about hos much she hated Liverpool, and how liverpool was full of smack heads and prostitutes and vermin, but she seems to forget one thing, she’s a scouser herself, where’s the loyalty to our city now? she’s a silly loud mouth who’s so called fame has gone to her stupid head, perhaps you should find the vid’s yourself and see what an idiot she made herself look, like i said, there’s no smoke without fire, and no us scousers aren’t going to tolerate that kind of behaviour, no one was being nasty to her before them vids got aired…so it’s her own fault

  25. CJ Quinn on February 27, 2014 at 1:49 pm

This so called show must not be aired! Is this the future of television? humiliation, defamation of a city, character Assassination of a city to raise a finger pointing cheap laugh! The backlash from the citizens of this city will be remorseless and unforgiving!

I’m disgusted at this shameful attempt to make the city and it’s people a stereotyped laughing stock just to create ratings and line the pockets of those responsible for this disgraceful so called production!

NO! This travesty must never be aired!

  26. lp bird on February 27, 2014 at 1:56 pm

not all real scousers r like this we dont talk in this way at all take the show down its showing us as horrable people who r rough n dont give a sh*t

  27. Moonmanlfc on February 27, 2014 at 2:17 pm

I’m absolutely made up that this show isn’t getting aired I seen the teaser trailer and besides it being comical for all the wrong reasons it looks as though it is glamourising stuff like fighting, swearing and binge drinking I think the majority of fellow scousers would most definitely agree that it’s for the best that no more stupid fake reality programs like this ever get aired giving our city a bad name

  28. Leigh on February 27, 2014 at 2:52 pm

I think it’s just what Liverpool needed and it’s a great way to show us great scousers off. Chelsey harwood is fantastic and loved by thousands. I say air the show I defo would be tuning in #teamchelsey #teamliverpool

  29. Carl Doyle on February 27, 2014 at 3:10 pm

I think E4 must be run by complete idiots if they thought this was a good idea. It is complete non-sense and shows the kind of people I have never met in my 29 years of living in Liverpool and I am a true scouser. Well done all who have rallied to stop this crap going on air

  30. Carl Doyle on February 27, 2014 at 3:13 pm

I should of added I am a very respected member of my community and top sporting figure who represents Liverpool / Merseyside

  31. Julie on February 27, 2014 at 3:24 pm

I agree..why do these tv companies try to bring this city down by using wannabee’s…why not focus on the good people of the city..the nice men and women who do not need to act like tramps and idiots to try and get “fame and fortune”
Bet this t v company are from outside of the city..and think they are laughing all the way to the ratings using people who have half a pea as a brain..time to turn our backs on those who try to portray this city in a bad light…
These wannabe’s want to stop and think …. what will their family think of them doing such a show plus what will their children think when they are played the show when they are word..SHAME!!!

  32. Aaron on February 27, 2014 at 3:32 pm

She/He is a fame hungry tramp!

The language that comes out of “it’s” mouth is atrocious.. It was only a couple of months ago she was posting videos on twitter “shoving her tooth brush up you know where”

And she wants too represent our city?!

Leg it you bad strap on

  33. A Real Scouser on February 27, 2014 at 3:42 pm

When i 1st. heard about this program, i looked into it. What i saw & heard made me cringe, it’s ridiculous. The title is all wrong, because it is NOT Liverpool, the people in it do not represent the people of Liverpool. As far as i know, 1 of them is an actor?? Some of the indoor scenes dont exsist, there sets. Can i just add, i felt so sorry for the mayor of our city having to take that verbal abuse from Chealse (what ever she calls herself) A very nasty piece of work she is, definately no lady that’s for sure. I’m keeping my fingers crossed this garbage ends up where it deserves to be, in the bin.!

  34. A Real Scouser on February 27, 2014 at 3:45 pm

    O Dear me.

  35. kerry on February 27, 2014 at 4:14 pm

this programme I was astonished when I seen the trailer even mortified when I seen the he/she comments and video’s on facebook she used fowl language , hated people of Liverpool in his/her post’s , why do channel 4 think this is exceptable to air this programme is beyond me h/she need’s to go back to her own root’s and take some lesson’s on how to act as a natural human being I think she is disturbed nd maybe need’s her trangender changing back to a male because she/he does not come alog natural as trying to be woman ……DISCUSTING BEHAVIOUR ….. AND YOU WONDER WHY YOU ARE GETTING ALL THIS BACKLASH …..from a 44 yr Liverpool mother of 2 young ladie’s get her off the show and put some natural talent on !!

  36. Terry Conway on February 27, 2014 at 4:19 pm

As a Liverpudlian through and through this is not Liverpool as I know it. It is some persons idea of causing controversy to make money and grab some attention for him/herself.
Channel 4 needs to take a serious look at their programme content and decide if they are going to entertain the general public or be responsible for causing civil unrest in this country, not just because of this programme but all the other ones they air which show different cities/towns as nothing but benefit cheats, foul mouthed yobs and many other denigrating attitudes. Anyone with any sense will simply turn this channel off.

  37. jaymi on February 27, 2014 at 4:48 pm

Really dont see what the problem is with this if what is being said is true which I dont dout its not lies my city were I was brought up yes Liverpool I am proud of it warts and all shame other people are not instead of sitting behind your phones and key boards etc get off your ass and go for a tour of our city and see the realky liverpool why should this city try to be something it is not ??

  38. carol black on February 27, 2014 at 5:17 pm

  39. fred on February 27, 2014 at 5:50 pm

    he/she craves attention
remember her twitter page claiming she was having an affair with some 1 called brendan ? “LFC” manager.
she didnt care about how that would hurt his family.
she has more issuse’s than just her gender

  40. Paddy M on February 27, 2014 at 6:01 pm

I’ve worked for many years around the
Country and met people from all walks of life
and found that soaps and reality shows
are very similar in that they don’t portray the real people of that community.
I got to the stage where I was defending not only Liverpool but other towns and cities.
Now I find that people will only be influenced by this rubbish if they are of the same mentality as the programmes mentioned. Keep up the good work as ambassadors of Liverpool and your own areas, then these fools might just go away. ps I’m 62, been around the world but always end up in Liverpool that is REALITY

  41. Emma on February 27, 2014 at 6:13 pm

Sorry but this article seems to focus on abuse that chelsey got. What about the abuse she gave including calling people skanks for asking perfectly legitimate and non abusive questions, that she called The Lord Mayor a ‘coffin dodging c**t’ and I believe She had a few harsh words for Joe Anderson as well.
Plus her video in which she claims Liverpool is ‘full of smack heads, drug dealers’. Etc and anyone against the programme should ‘suck a fart out of her c**t’.
Write a balanced article including what she did.

  42. sarah chamberlain on February 27, 2014 at 6:15 pm

“Before calling me a disgrace to liverpool try looking at what you are writing to me pages and pages of hate mail and for what exactly?? Daring to be different i feel sorry for your kids more than myself”

the reason as to why she has so much hate directed at her is nothing to do with being a transgender, its because she has a horrible attitude, shes vicious and has developed an unhealthy sense of entitlement! shes vulgar! the pictures she posted of herself using various implements to penetrate herself were vile and inexcusable. she attempts to bully local businesses when they refuse her demands to free services and products because she has deluded herself by thinking she is ‘famous’ and influential…..maybe trying to be a nice person would be time better spent..grow up chelsea your not the only gay in the village!! id be deeply ashamed if i was her mother

  43. lpool on February 27, 2014 at 7:46 pm

Its a tv show – everyone needs to get over it, i cant wait for it to start, better than shitty soaps that r on.

  44. Barry on February 27, 2014 at 8:03 pm

A true and honest reflection of our city? I haven’t ever seen these people or seen this kind of behaviour on the streets of Liverpool.

Any person from Liverpool who had an ounce of respect for themselves or the city would not appear in this drivel and follow orders to act completely out of character for a minuscule amount of fame.

Shame on all who were involved.

  45. Michelle on February 27, 2014 at 9:56 pm

Couldn’t agree more. We know how to party in Liverpool we are the coolest city after all… The trailer is just foul mouthed and trashy and it’s not the true Liverpool like it’s been portrayed . I see how some comments are threatening to the cast members and they are retaliating and saying they are being victimised, well if you want to be famous you need thick skin but I have to say this would be the death of Liverpool if it gets aired it’s not even funny it’s just disaster tv end off

  46. mel on February 27, 2014 at 10:16 pm

People take these programs far too seriously, anyone with a bit of sense knows this is only one aspect of an inviting, warm, friendly, colorful and diverse city with a wealth of culture. Life isn’t all question time, as Liverpool isn’t all young frivolous scallies with lots of attitude, but they are out there let them have their day, and after all you don’t have to watch it! Get out visit Liverpool for yourself it’s great, and if I happen to bump in to Chelsey Harwood I’ll tell her ‘you go girl’, because she definitely adds something to that colurful mix.

  47. Rozalyn on February 27, 2014 at 10:52 pm

Dont see why people have got so much to say about Chelsey Hardwood clearly they all arent as innocent as they seem if they’re writing hate message to and about her, at the end of the day the programme looks like a laugh and shows the reality of things that do happen in everyday life its not fake one bit and a TV show shouldnt change the way people think of liverpool. The people on the show are actually making a name for themselves and getting somewhere with there life and there getting hate for it? Pathetic. The people who are being negative towards them and the show are the ones who should be ashamed

  48. A REAL SCOUSER on February 28, 2014 at 10:51 am

My gripe has nothing to do with the LOVELY Chelsey…. I am against the show being aired as it is NOT liverpool as i know it. This show is supposed to reality, there’s nothing real about about it!! For 1, a member of the cast is an actor, for 2, some of the indoor shots do not exist.. The only thing i’m ashamed of is the way Liverpool & it’s people are being portrade. If your that desparate for a laugh, go look in the mirror, see how sad you are if you think this rubbish is reality.

  49. A REAL SCOUSER on February 28, 2014 at 10:57 am

The lady may be colourful, she definately has a fowl mouth that’s for sure, but i dont want HER representing ME or MINE. These people on this crap (show) are few & far between, but if this rubbish goes ahead, all scousers will be tarred with the same brush, as the viewer will assume we’re all like the cast. Not so, because this rubbish is NOT reality, as it’s being advertised.

  50. Kimberley on February 28, 2014 at 6:53 pm

This show is tragic and is going to show fake stereotypical view of Liverpool.
