Jada Pinkett Smith has blasted members of the press and public who bully young stars.
Justin Bieber hit the headlines recently and received incredibly negative press during the month he spent in the UK. It all culminated in incident between the Canadian star and a photographer, in which Biebs tried to attack the member of paparazzi as he shouted abuse at him while he made his way to a waiting car.
In a post on her Facebook wall Pinkett Smith insisted that people have a responsibility to be more positive with young celebrities and and asked the press to think before lashing out and attacking teenagers who are just trying to work and support their families.
Jada – who of course is married to Hollywood A lister Will Smith – wrote:
“Do we feel as though we can say and do what we please without demonstrating any responsibility simply because they are famous?”
Addressing Justin’s story in particular she added:
“Is it okay to continually attack and criticise a famous 19-year-old who is simply trying to build a life, exercise his talents while figuring out what manhood and fame is all about as he carries the weight of supporting his family as well as providing the paychecks to others who depend on him to work so they can feed their families as well? Does that render being called a c**t by an adult male photographer as you try to return to your hotel after leaving the hospital?”
Taylor Swift has also come under fire of late for her chequered love life. The country singer has left a trail of ex boyfriends in her wake and their breakups become public knowledge, as she seems to pen songs about most of the splits. Pinkett Smith thinks we need to take it easier on Taylor though and added:
“And should we shame a young woman for displaying a sense of innocence as she navigates through the murky waters of love, heartbreak, and fame?”
