Jersey Shore: New mother Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi was ‘selfish’ before giving birth

Former Jersey Shore star Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi admits she was “selfish” before she gave birth to her first child.

The reality star, 25, and fiancé Jionni LaValle welcomed baby Lorenzo to their family in August last year, just months after announcing they were engaged.

And Snooki, who was known for her drunken antics and hard partying on Jersey Shore, admits that being a parent has taught her to put other people’s needs above her own.

She told the Asbury Park Press: “[Motherhood is] pretty great. Before I had the baby, I was very selfish, and all I wanted to do was go to Vegas with my boyfriend and party.

“Once you have a kid everything changes… It changes how you look at the world.”

And while Snooki, real name Nicole Polizzi, may have risen to fame on party show Jersey Shore, the popular MTV reality show has now ended and she is currently starring in spin-off series Snooki and JWoww with best friend Jenny ‘Jwoww’ Farley.

Speaking about the show, she said: “You’ll see Lorenzo being born, the first month that he’s alive, and we’re the new parents, and we’re trying to get used to everything. Then you see Jenny getting engaged [to boyfriend Roger Matthews], and Jenny’s trying to move on with her new life with Roger. A lot’s going on.”

And it seems Snooki is now completely used to having cameras following her around – they were even in the delivery room while she gave birth.

She said: “It was actually very easy. Obviously, I was a little uncomfortable at the end with the whole delivery process, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was [going to be]. I was in labour for 27 hours, but I did get the epidural, so I didn’t feel anything.

“I was basically watching cartoons and relaxing.”
