Justin Bieber has found himself at the centre of another controversy after it emerged a tattoo parlour where he illegally inked the owner may face a $2,000 fine.
The star, 19, tattooed a mouse onto the leg of his friend Keith McCurdy, who owns a parlour in New York City, last June.
New York law insists all tattoo artists must hold a valid licence to create body art and by letting Justin create the marking, Keith could face a penalty, according to the New York Daily News.
This is not the first time the shop has hit the headlines – The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene issued a warning to the owner in 2009 when Rihanna tattooed the letter ‘R’ and a drawing of an umbrella on his arm.
Katy Perry and Chris Brown have also taken the needle to Keith’s body to give him an inking.
Justin himself will not be liable to pay the fine but the news may not be welcomed by the star who has faced a number of troubles in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, the Baby singer caused outrage among young fans and their parents after he turned up a reported two hours late for a performance at London’s O2 Arena.
Just days later he flew into an angry rage and was pictured attacking a cameraman outside his hotel in the city.
Last week it emerged Justin had his pet monkey confiscated after he tried to take the animal on his private jet at Munich airport in Germany.
He has also allegedly become embroiled in a battle with his neighbours after his friends held a party at his lavish Los Angeles mansion while he was in Europe on tour and revellers angered residents next door when the celebrations spilled out onto the street.
