During last night’s edition of ITV2’s The Big Reunion, Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona claimed that her former husband Brian McFadden’s infidelity led to the breakup of their marriage.

Of Brian – who was of course formerly a member of boy band Westlife – Kerry said, “He left me. He got with somebody else and that absolutely destroyed me…

“It made me feel a failure as a mother, as a wife.”

She went on to say that the couple attempted to keep up the façade of being happily married for the sake of their young children, but as he drug habits formed, it was a front that Kerry found she couldn’t sustain.

She explained, “Cocaine then becomes your bestest friend in the world and it listens to your problems.”

She remarked, “Brian lives in Australia. They see him about twice a year.

“I think it’s quite shocking. As far as I’m aware, they don’t even speak every week.”

She added, “I’m not here to slag Brian off, I’m just stating facts.

“I never had a dad myself and I think any kind of man who moves to the other side of the world and leaves their children is terrible – I don’t think it’s acceptable.

“What annoyed me most about that whole situation, when I was at my lowest ebb, rather than Brian coming and helping with the children, he went on national television to slag me off as a parent.

“It’s like, hang on a minute, I’m bringing up these kids on my own. I’m not getting financial help or anything – give me a break.”
