Let’s Dance For Comic Relief week 1: Ricky Hatton, Olivia Lee, Tim Vine, Dean Gaffney, Claire Sweeney, Natalie Cassidy & Ricky Groves

by Lisa McGarry

Let’s Dance for Comic Relief returns to our screens this weekend and we have the full lineup of all the stars that will be performing on the show.

Alex Jones and her ex boyfriend Steve Jones will take the helm once more, and the presenting duo will preside over the dance competition as the four week long series kicks off on Saturday night. We will be treated to three live shows, featuring a selection of soap stars, comedians and other well known faces, before the whole thing comes to a head in the grand finale this March.

Each Saturday viewers will be asked to vote for their favourite stars and two acts will progress to the final each week.

The first act will be chosen purely on public votes. The next two most popular dancers will face the judging panel – made of of a rotating cast of comedians which will include Frank Skinner and Jo Brand – and they will pick the second act going through.

There will also be a musical performance each weekend.

The week one performances will be as follows:

Tim Vine: Rock Your Body

Olivia Lee: Bad Romance

Ricky Hatton: Let Me Entertain You

Soap Stars – Dean Gaffney, Claire Sweeney, Natalie Cassidy and Ricky Groves: You Can’t Stop The Beat’

Hal Cruttenden, Mark Dolan and Shaun Keaveny: Bootylicious

Alex Jones is glad to be back and told The Sun this week:

“I am ridiculously excited to be back on the Let’s Dance show.

“The line-up this year is superb, the panel is really strong and there is even talk of Miss Piggy joining in.

“As I did Strictly, I completely understand how nerve-racking it is. They are all so brave.

“I would love to go on the dance floor with Steve but he told me he would rather chop his own head off.

“I’ve seen him dance and it’s not a good look!

“He also told me he would rather sell his house and give all the proceeds to the cause than embarrass himself on the dance floor.”
