TOWIE Live: Joey Essex says he isn’t nervous for live Christmas show on Monday!

by Anna Howell

With the first ever live episode of The Only Way Is Essex just days away, one of its main stars, Joey Essex, has revealed that he is not nervous at all!

TOWIE returns to our ITV2 screens on Sunday night for a regular instalment of the lives of the Essex crew, with the live episode due to follow on the next night, and whilst most of the cast have admitted to feeling slightly apprehensive, walking-on-water Joey is as cool as a cucumber!

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Joey, who is dating his co-star Sam Faiers, admitted: “I don’t really get nervous. It’s exciting but at the same time I’m wondering, once someone’s said something on live TV it’s gone out, or what if someone faints, like Gillian McKeith did on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here?

“It’ll be interesting. I’ll be intrigued to see what happens. I think most of the cast are just really excited.”

We are actually quite glad that Joey is feeling confident as we would hate for the pressures of live TV to impair his religiously entertaining persona, which has helped keep us amused every series since he joined the cast.

Last series alone we saw him set his friend, James Argent up on a dating website and attempt to run on water, not to mention his abundance of ridiculous outfits and accessories including skiing goggles and an ankle watch.

However, in the most recent series we did see a softer side to his usually joyful character when he broke down in tears over his relationship with Faiers. But in recent reports it has been suggested that the pair have now patched thing up, and that Joey is on the brink of proposing to Sam, wouldn’t that make for great viewing on the live show?

Now, before you point it out, we know the video below isn’t the best footage, but we wanted to give you the opportunity to watch Joey running on water!

The Only Way Is Essex returns on Sunday night at 10pm on ITV2/ITV2 HD, with The Only Way Is Essex Live on Monday night at 10pm.
