There are a number of music streaming services out there all competing within the same space and all of which offer basically the same service, but it goes without saying that Spotify is the biggest platform out there. So having said that, Spotify is always a fantastic indicator to look at to see what is going on in the music world and to see what is popular.
Today, the streaming giant has revealed the most-streamed song in the history of Spotify, and you probably won’t be that surprised to find out what it is.
It has been confirmed that Drake’s ‘One Dance’ has become the most-streamed song EVER on the music streaming platform. The song has been streamed a mind-boggling 880 million times. 880 million streams of one song is CRAZY.
It comes as no surprise that One Dance has been named as the most-streamed song ever on the platform as there is always a lot of buzz around Drake. When the song was released in the summer, he also ruled the official charts. Here in the UK, One Dance spent a total of 15 consecutive weeks at number 1, which is quite the feat. Even 28 weeks after release, the song is still within the Top 20 this week.
Furthermore, One Dance also ruled the charts in the US as it was number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks.

As if that wasn’t enough, when the parent album ‘Views’ dropped in April, it spent 2 non-consecutive fees at Number 1 in the UK along with sitting at the top spot on the Billboard 200 in the US for 13 weeks. Views became the first album to hit 1 billion streams on Apple Music.
It has been a great year for the Canadian. How many of those 880 million streams on Spotify are you responsible for?
