Glee’s Naya Rivera has some advice for Heather Morris on Dancing With the Stars

Naya Rivera is speaking out about former Glee co-star Heather Morris’s upcoming stint on Dancing With the Stars.

Naya spoke out about her friends’ turn on the dancing show in a new interview, admitting that she’s “excited” to see Heather head to the ballroom 4 years after their fellow Glee girl Amber Riley took home the mirror ball trophy.

Rivera, who played Heather on-screen love interest Santana Lopez on the show, told People that she was “so excited” when she heard the news that Morris would be heading to the ABC show and promised to tune in to cheer on her friend.

“I definitely am going to be rooting for her and watching like I was with Amber,” Naya said, joking that Morris “has some big shoes to fill” to make it to the finish line like Riley.

“But I’m not worried about her,” Naya continued of Heather, “because she’s a fantastic performer and a great dancer. I think she’s going to bring so much fun to the show. I’m excited!”

Heather’s appearance on DWTS has been causing a little controversy as of late, as The Inquisitr reported that fans of the ABC show have been hitting back because of Morris’s extensive background as a professional dancer.

Morris appeared on So You Think You Can Dance? before finding success on Glee and also appeared as a backing dancer for Beyonce and a professional dancer in the 2008 film Bedtime Stories.

Some fans claimed the former Glee’s stars appearance on the show was “unfair” because she already has so much dancing experience, while sources also claimed that her fellow contestants weren’t too happy when they heard she’d be joining the show.

Dancing With the Stars Season 24 premieres tonight (March 20) on ABC.
