James Corden filmed a Carpool Karaoke session with Linkin Park before band member Chester Bennington’s tragic suicide, and now whether or not the segment will air is in serious jeopardy.

James confirmed that he gathered the rock group together in his car for the viral segment and noted that it will now be up to Charles’s family to decide whether or not it will air on The Late Late Show.

“We will approach it in whatever manner his family,” he confirmed to the Associated Press, “however they would like it to be handled.”

He then added that he and his team “consider it not our decision to make” whether or not the segment will ever see the light of day.

“We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want,” he added.

Talinda, Bennington’s wife, tweeted out a link to James’ comments and thanked both him and Carpool Karaoke for being respectful of her wishes.

She has not yet confirmed, however, whether or not she will give her permission for the session to air, though fans of the band are no doubt hoping they’ll get to see the star with his bandmates one final time.

Linkin Park have enjoyed a plethora of hits since releasing their debut album 17 years ago.

Some of their more famous tracks include “Papercut,” “In The End” and “Numb.”

The rock band are thought to have filmed the segment for the late night talk show just days before Chester died on July 20. He hung himself aged 41 at his Long Angeles home and was found by a housekeeper.
