Louis Tomlinson is the ONLY member of One Direction Simon Cowell will ever work with?

When Simon Cowell put One Direction together as a group on The X Factor in 2010, though he knew the band would be a hit, he could have had no real clue about what a global phenomenon 1D would become.

And that’s because other than The Beatles, there has never been a worldwide reaction to a group that’s comparable to how things have evolved for One Direction since 2010.

But of course, though it was Cowell who gave One Direction their start by backing them with serious quantities of cash, the group returned that investment and millions, if not billions, more in return…

They toured more or less solidly for five years, and produced five hit albums and countless money-spinning singles. They also starred in their own film, This Is Us, and it’s almost impossible to even guess at how much revenue One Direction merchandise has brought in over the years.

So the bottom line is that everyone got rich; Simon, the band’s singers, and everyone who has or had anything to do with the group.

But now, though the official word is still that One Direction will reform at some point – but nobody’s putting a date on it – Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne have all launched solo singing careers…

Liam has confirmed deals with Capitol and Republic Records, and Niall recently released his solo debut single, This Town.

Harry has yet to produce any solo material, but as it’s rumoured he has a three-album deal, it’s surely only a matter of time before he does.

So that just leaves Louis Tomlinson yet to announce any plans for a solo singing career. However, nobody is really expecting him to because he’s made it clear his main focus is on finding and nurturing new singing talent…

Which he’s doing while being guided by Simon Cowell.

And that being the case, it could well be that Simon will only be working with Louis – in terms of the One Direction lads – in the future, because he’s made no secret of it that he was “disappointed” when everyone else signed up to other labels.

He was also less than impressed when former One Direction singer Zayn Malik did likewise. And furthermore, Zayn is reportedly planning at TV series that’s loosely based on One Direction and their experiences. Which he apparently didn’t consult Simon about…

But if Simon feels affronted enough to shun the One Direction lads in the future, then what does that mean for a 1D reunion?

Time will tell…
