Selena Gomez is admitting that she can’t wait for the moment people forget all about her.

The former Disney Channel darling made the pretty surprising confession whole chatting with Vogue for a stunning cover feature, where she admitted that after being in the spotlight since she shot to fame on Wizards of Waverly Place a decade ago that she’s ready for a little anonymity.

“I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am, but—how can I say this without sounding weird?” Gomez asked in the new interview, before admitting, “I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me.”

Selena’s pretty bizarre confession came after she admitted that she struggles with the trappings of fame after becoming one of the biggest stars on the planet, but told the high fashion magazine that she’s no longer seeking everyone’s approval with her music and movies.

“For a change, it feels like I don’t have to be holding my breath and waiting for somebody to judge a piece of work that I’m doing,” Selena said after admitting that she’s ready to be forgotten. “I’m not eager to chase a moment. I don’t think there’s a moment for me to chase.”

But while Selena is looking to be forgotten, that doesn’t mean she’s okay with being replaced.

In fact, Gomez is so hell bent on being the only Selena Gomez in the entertainment industry that she’s reportedly trademarking her name, which means no one else will be able to trade under her name.

TMZ is reporting that Selena recently filed legal papers to stop anyone else from using her name while appearing on live TV or in films and stating that no one else can go by Selena Gomez to make music.

And despite her confessions, the papers also seemed to confirm that Gomez has no plans to fade away into the background anytime soon as the documents revealed that Selena is also working on a new accessories line.
