It’s always interesting to see which direction an X Factor winner will go in once they have left the competition. Throughout The X Factor it’s sometimes hard to tell what route an artist will go down because each week is varied on the show. Although we learned that Matt Terry loves a good ballad, we still didn’t know what sort of music he would prefer to put on his first album.
Well, if details reported today are anything to go by, then it looks like we’ve got a good idea which route Matt will be going down with his debut album, which is likely to be released later this year.
Matt has only just started work on his debut album, but he’s already revealed that he’s been working with none other than Sam Smith. Although Sam has only released one album himself, it went on to smash records around the world, and off the back of it he was even asked to record the James Bond theme song for Spectre.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Matt revealed: “Wen I did his song it was an amazing moment. So to record a song written by him now is so exciting”.
Matt covered ‘The Writing’s On The Wall’ during his time on The X Factor, and it was one of his performances that really set him apart from his fellow contestants as he showed what a fantastic voice he has. We’d have a guess that this new song will be a big ballad, and we cannot wait to hear it. Hopefully, Matt will go on to have as much success as Sam did with his first album.
