Coronation Street bosses have today revealed a just plain fabulous Advent Calendar on the show’s official Twitter account.
The first ‘window’ features Sam Robertson and Rob Mallard – who play the roles of Ken Barlow’s son grandson Adam and son Daniel respectively – revealing what Christmas means to them…
The hunky actors also share what they would like Father Christmas to bring them this year and what part of Christmas dinner they’re most looking forward to.
Take a look at that…

Meanwhile, Coronation Street chiefs have also announced that a tribute to the wonderful Jean Alexander, who of course played Hilda Ogden, will air on December 20th.
The Mirror reports that Corrie bosses decided to pay homage to Jean – who passed away earlier this year just days after celebrating her 90th birthday – due to “the massive public affection” for Jean and for Hilda.
An ITV insider said, “The tribute will be packed full of fun and family humour.
“The episodes featuring Hilda and her layabout husband Stan, played by the late Bernard Youens, were soap comedy gold.
“The couple were spectacularly popular.”
However, though no doubt Coronation Street fans will be tuning-in to watch the tribute to Jean Alexander, it seems many are very much tuning-out of the current Maria and Caz storyline!
As we saw in last night’s Coronation Street, the team of police officers who are investigating Caz’s disappearance – which they’re treating as suspected murder – were far from enthused when Aidan Connor reported to them that he had seen Caz very much alive and well and working in a local factory.
But while Maria is languishing in jail on remand, the detectives heading up the case didn’t even bother to check out Aidan’s claims, and instead, berated him for telling them how to do their jobs.
On Twitter, one Coronation Street viewer wrote, “This police detective is effing useless,” while another tweeted, “Surely the police would show Caz’s photo to the other workers and see if they recognise her?”
I hate it when #Corrie goes off the rails and the writing gets sloppy. This farcical situation re Caz & Maria is just an insult to viewers.

What do you think of the whole plotline? Is it ‘naff’ and boring? Or is it keeping you entertained?
