EastEnders bosses are teasing that something huge is coming to the square.
Bosses at the BBC soap revealed that a particularly big storyline will be coming to Albert Square soon and will involve pretty much all of the principle cast.
Sean O’Connor, who’s the big boss of the soap, spoke out about what’s to come in a new interview with Metro, where he revealed that fans should brace themselves for something “game-changing.”
“What we are planning will be electric,” he said. “It will involve all of the main characters – both new and legacy characters, nobody has been left out. We’re all very excited about it.”
Though he wasn’t prepared to give too much away when it comes to exactly what viewers can expect, it definitely sounds like whatever the writers and crew have in store is going to be pretty huge.
“No show has ever attempted what we’re planning to do in the next few months. It’s massively ambitious – and crucially – it’s something that only EastEnders would or could do,” he continued.
“We’re pulling out all the stops to make it happen,” O’Conner added of the top secret storyline, which he admitted was “ambitious” even for the long running soap that’s seen some pretty major disasters come and go over the years.
“Certainly for EastEnders, it’ll be game-changing. But I can’t say more than that!”
As we previously reported, rumours have been swirling that long-time favourite Dot Cotton could be about to die after the new trailer showed the pensioner lying on the floor motionless in her kitchen, though the big boss didn’t comment on the speculation.
We also know that Max Branning has something brewing, which means he could potentially be a pawn in the upcoming storyline.
