EastEnders fans can expect to say bye bye to a big character.
Actor Aaron Sidwell, who plays Steven Beale, is set to leave the soap over the coming weeks and it sounds like his exit is going to be seriously dramatic.
A spokesperson for the BBC show confirmed that the actor will be leaving to pursue other projects and also teased that he’ll be going out with a bang.
“Aaron Sidwell is part of one of the big upcoming storylines and we can confirm, following dramatic scenes to be aired later this summer, he will be leaving the show,” they told Metro of his upcoming exit. “We wish Aaron all the very best for the future.”
It’s thought that Steven will make his final appearance in Albert Square next month and, although the show is staying quiet about just how he’ll be waving bye bye for now, we know there’s a whole lot of drama that can unfold for the troubled lad.
As fans have seen, Steven’s been lying to girlfriend Lauren about having a brain tumour in a desperate attempt to stop her from tracking down his brother – and father of Lauren’s son – Peter Beale.
He’s also been having an affair with her sister Abi, while their dad Max has been toying with his emotions after discovering that he’s been lying about his illness.
There’s also been a whole lot of mystery over Steven’s relationship with Peter since he returned to Walford with Lauren, which has had fans speculating if he may have done something to Louie’s dad that could soon unravel.
