EastEnders stars have already filmed Ronnie & Roxy death scenes amid asbestos scare?!

by Lynn Rowlands

Fans of EastEnders will know that show veterans Rita Simons and Samantha Womack are quitting the soap and their roles as sisters Roxy and Ronnie Mitchell.

And when it was first revealed that the characters were set to die an explosion – that would air on New Year’s Eve – many fans were outraged that new boss Sean O’Connor was planning to kill off the well-loved characters.

However, it seems that the show’s writers have in fact come up with multiple endings for Ronnie and Roxy…

On October 21st, with the image above, Sam tweeted, “Multiple endings…

“Do you know what you think you know??? Is it the end, will it end, who will go and how?

“Sisters together forever.”

So does that tell us anything about Ronnie and Roxy’s EastEnders fate?

Well, saying the sisters will be “together forever” does rather sound like a reference to their deaths, but bottom line, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile though, it’s been reported today that there has been a health scare on the set of the show after workmen uncovered deadly asbestos.

The Sun reports that Adam Woodyatt and Lacey Turner – who play the roles of Ian Beale and Stacey Fowler – were among cast members on-site when the asbestos was found as engineers were fitting fibre optic cables.

The publication reports that a spokesman for Essex Asbestos Testing said, “If they stopped work straight away, got out and did the necessary safety procedures the risk to themselves and passers-by would have been reduced to as low as it can be.”

And an on-set source added, “Fortunately, health and safety procedures were followed and there should be no risk to staff.”

Here’s hoping that’s all cleared up now.

But back to the show itself, and in tonight’s episode of EastEnders, Jane hints to Steven that she knows about his theft of funds from her husband Ian’s restaurant.
