William Hill have been forced to slash the price of Jason Gilkison being named as a Judge on Strictly Come Dancing 2017 from 10/1 into 3/1.
Len Goodman announced a few months ago that he was giving up his seat as head judge, after more than a decade on the BBC show. The ballroom expert is keen to take a slower approach to life and all the trans-atlantic commuting is beginning to take its toll on his health and wellbeing.
As yet Beeb bosses have to announced who will fill his spot, but along with Jason Gilkison, Gary Edwards is also looking likely. He the current favourite at Evens, with Anton Du Beke just behind at 2/1.
“This gamble has taken us by surprise and if it continued Jason could leapfrog Anton Du Beke, who’s dream of becoming a Judge could be in tatters,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
