Strictly Come Dancing 2012 Results: Michael Vaughan’s not too upset to be leaving!

Michael Vaughan has admitted that he doesn’t mind leaving Strictly Come Dancing so close to the end of the series.

The cricket star was voted off the BBC show last night after finding himself in his second danceoff of the series.

He went head to head with Nicky Byrne and there were no shocks as all the judges unanimously voted to save the Westlife star and send Michael and his professional partner Natalie home.

Even on the night Michael didn’t look in the slightest bit upset to be leaving and he admitted that he has no problems with being sent home.

Vaughan told The Sun:

“It started in September and to think I was still dancing in December. It has been quite extraordinary.

“I was quite happy to go out wearing a dodgy shirt and dancing to Tequila.

“It’s not a bad way to leave Strictly.”

Michael admitted last week on It Takes Two that he hasn’t been nervous or worried about any dance on the series, because he always felt so lucky just to be on the show.

In his exit interview he reiterated his comments and insisted that there was nothing bad about the experience for him. He said:

“It’s been a great laugh and a real good experience for me to be taught something outside of my comfort zone.”

He praised the stunning dance expert Natalie Lowe who got him so far adding:

“I call her the wizard. How she got me to the ninth week is remarkable.”

Last night Michael took to Twitter to thank his fans and Natalie again. He wrote:

“Thanks @bbcstrictly for the great 9 weeks .. Had a great time.. @RealNatalieLowe and I gave it everything… @nickybyrneoffic to win please”

Vaughan added:

“It’s been a pleasure to have a laugh every week with all the crew, contestants, dancers and the best live music on TV @SCDband #cheers”

“The miracle worker @RealNatalieLowe deserves all the credit for getting disco dancing northern daddy to the 9th week… Send her a tweet..”

Bookies are now backing Louis Smith to win the series this month, predicting that Denise Van Outen will finish in second place and Dani harmer in third.
