Fans of Strictly Come Dancing may know that pro-dancers Camilla Dallerup and Brendan Cole were formerly in a relationship…

However, their romance ended in 2004 – after the couple had been together for six years – and at the time, there were rumours that Brendan had had a romance with newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky.

In 2008, Camilla quit the show and has only now confessed that it’s taken her several years to get over her romance with Brendan ending…

Speaking to the Star, she explained, “I turned to life coaching at that time and hypnosis.

“That whole period was very tough and it took me about three years to heal.

“But I was in a very glittery show and I’m very old school – the show must go on. I had to fight back.”

Camilla, who’s now married to Hollyoaks ¬actor Kevin Sacre, is using her life ¬experiences, including the break-up with Brendan, to camilla dallerup, brendan colehelp others in the role of a life coach.

She said, “I want to share some of the tools – hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and just motivation – that helped me through those times and say a positive outlook can really help.

“It helped me on Strictly and I won in the end.

“Often we are our worst enemies and put restrictions on ourselves and what we can do. I want to say drop them and get on with it.”

And of how her relationship with Kevin developed, Camilla said, “Things were easy. There were no games and things felt right. It was how it should be.

“That was new for me. None of the rubbish and drama that usually goes with dating. There was no jealousy.

“I knew he was kissing girls on screen so he was totally cool with the dancing.

“There might be times we don’t see each other for weeks but we make the most of the time we are together. It keeps things exciting.”

She continued, “When I first met Kev I was boring and a workaholic…

“One of the things I fell for is that he is naturally an optimist and is very good at going with the flow.

“He taught me to sometimes switch off, which is not something that came naturally to me.

“I needed to have downtime otherwise I would work until I burned myself out.”

And finally, when asked if there was any possibility she may return to Strictly, Camilla said, “I would love to be a judge.

“I love the brand so much and the producers and the whole thing.

“They have a team now but you can never say never.”
