This evening, Ashley Taylor Dawson and his professional partner Ola Jordan took to the dance floor for the second time this series.
The pair danced the American Smooth to Robbie Williams’ version of Beyond the Sea. Last week, Ashley was slated by Craig Revel Horwood when he told him his hips were “extremely stiff” and his footwork was “extremely feral”. However, he received a very good first score of 25.
This week, Ashley said in his VT: “Last weekend, I was very nervous. The worst thing was, I got there and my mouth was so dry. I do feel like I could have danced better, but I was concerned with missing my baby’s birth My head was fried!
“As the saying goes, there’s no rest for the wicked. I’m back in training an I’m excited!”
Bruno Tonioli said: “You couldn’t have been any more smooth if you’d tried. You put so much into it and that’s what American Smooth is all about”.
Darcey Bussell added: “Amazing dance content, the whole thing was incredible. You have great lines and you looked so comfortable. You are gonna go far”.
Len Goodman continued: “You put the oo in smooth! This competition is easy, each week just be better than the previous and that’s what you have done”.
Craig Revel Horwood grunted: “There are some problems, your hands, your feet you tend to flex them, thumb sometimes up, your wrist is broken, but I’m amazed as there was so much content in there. Fantastic energy and fantastic showman”.
Both Ashley & Ola received a combined score of 32 from the judges. A 7 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 9 from Darcey Bussell, a 8 from Len Goodman and finally, a 8 from Bruno Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening on BBC One at 7pm, in which one contestant will be given the boot.
