Strictly Come Dancing 2013 Live Shows: Natalie Gumede & Artem Chigvintsev perform a “breathtaking” Waltz (VIDEO)

by Nick Barnes

This evening Natalie Gumede and her professional partner Artem Chigvintsev took to the dance floor for the second time this series.

The pair danced the Waltz to Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You. Last week, Natalie was very narrowly beaten to the top of the leader board by Abbey Clancy with 1 point separating the pair. Either way, last week’s performance went down a storm was Bruno said Natalie will go far and Craig told her she was the front runner!

This week, Natalie said in her VT: “Last Weekend was absolutely wild! I absolutely loved it, the judges’ scores were so generous and we finished second on the leader board, but we have to work so hard to prove ourselves on week two.

“One of the many things I’m struggling with is the turning, I’m getting really dizzy… it’s not nice! Hopefully my head won’t roll off my shoulders and they won’t have to scrape me off the floor”.

Judges’ Comments

Bruno Tonioli said: “Incredible control and confidence for week two. What you have that is special is the incredible fluidity of your arms and expression. Each flicker of your wrist tells a story”.

Darcey Bussell added: “You have it, you have the quality and the feeling. You have a swan neck I didn’t see before. Doing those head rolls and turning, you’re going to be one to watch. Wonderful work”.

Len Goodman continued: “I must say I love the feel of it, the grace and the elegance. It was a little ball-flat throughout, but as a dance and a performance, absolutely corking. Well done”.

Craig Revel Horwood grunted: “I was moved! However, there was some occasional gapping. Gorgeous top line, wonderful use of the skirt. Breathtaking!!”

Both Natalie & Artem received a combined score of 34 from the judges. It as a 8 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 9 from Darcey Bussell, a 8 from Len Goodman and finally, a 9 from Bruno Tonioli.

Following her second dance, Natalie said: “It’s just such a beautiful song to dance to. It makes it easier to perform”.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening on BBC One at 7pm, in which two contestants will be given the boot.

In a book I have written about magnetic codes based on birthdates, I explain how people like Artem and Natalie clash because they are both 4+ types i.e. they both have the same magnetic field; its like pushing two magnetics together. One will always try harder than the other so if they don’t exhaust themselves first I predict they will walk this contest public tastes notwithstanding.
