Natalie Gumede may have been suffering with a bad back this week, but she’s a true trooper and danced her way through the pain on tonight’s show. Natalie and her professional partner Artem Chigvintsev danced the Quickstep to Usher’s ‘Yeah!’
This week, Natalie has had a bit of a bad back and missed two days of training. She was thrilled with last week’s feedback and it’s the “greatest feeling in the world”. This week, is the very quick quickstep and things took a turn for the worst as she had trouble with her back and the pain became unbearable. After tests a bulging disc was found in her back and she was terrified she would have to pull out of the competition but it’s amazing she’s back on form.
Last week, Natalie Gumede stunned once again and grabbed the highest score of the evening, with a whopping 36. Bruno said it was “expressive, meaningful, beauty in perpetual motion”. Craig was left speechless as he said: “Love, love, love”.
As always, Natalie looked stunning this evening and very much the part. The dance was technically spot on, quick and those head rolls are something else! Each week Natalie seems to pull it out of the bag.
- Len Goodman: “It was a bit long-winded getting started, but once you got started, it was great and you stopped in hold too short. The bit in hold was great”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “I can’t believe you delivered a dance of this standard in such a short period of time. You capture the spirit of the dance so well. I thought it was absolutely wonderful”.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I love the fusion of quickstep and dance, there’s no stopping you, it was stunning”.
- Darcey Bussell: “The style was perfect and there was so much dance content. what you have been through this week, you could have cut some things out and it would have still been fabulous. Don’t be too ambitious, look after yourself”.
Both Natalie & Artem received a combined score of 35 with a 9 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 9 from Darcey Bussell, an 8 from Len Goodman and a 9 from Bruno Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:15pm on BBC One.
