This evening Susanna Reid and her professional partner Kevin Clifton took to the dance floor for the second time this series.
The pair danced the Tango to Bruno Mars’ Locked Out of Heaven. Last week, Susanna scored a high score of 28 after Craig said the “energy and personality” in the performance was “sublime”. It was “chicken soup to the eyes” according to Len.
This week, Susanna said in her VT: “It was scary and exciting, but fantastic at the same time. I’d done a ridiculous cart wheel and ended up on the sofa. It was one of the highlights of my entire life.
“I am having the time of my life. The moves in the Tango are hard for me to get my head around as there’s quite a lot of staring at each other and there’s a lot of training to get into my schedule”.
Bruno Tonioli said: “Susanna! I don’t know about Kevin but it felt like hell to me in a good way. You had the fire the flare and the attack. You have so much attack, sometimes your frame goes a little bit. It’s better to give more than less”.
Darcey Bussell added: “You should give up your day job, you’ve got it!”
Len Goodman continued: “Susanna, you put the ‘go’ in Tango! Your frame sometimes is a little lose, but when Kevin is this way, you’re that way. you lose a bit of connection. Two dances down, so far fabulous”.
Craig Revel Horwood told them: “You controlled it nicely, it was full of drama and intent. Your right hand is gripping for death rather than the palm facing the forehand. You were also raising your right shoulder. The dance was very good”.
Both Susanna & Kevin received a combined score of 31 from the judges. It as a 7 from Craig Revel Horwood, an 8 from Darcey Bussell, an 8 from Len Goodman and finally, an 8 from Bruno Tonioli.
Following her second dance, Susanna said: “I’m really happy, I’m a bit overwhelmed”.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening on BBC One at 7pm, in which one couple will be given the boot.
