This evening, Patrick Robinson and his professional partner Anya Garnis took to the dance floor for love week. Patrick’s sounding a lot more confident, saying all the hard work last week paid off.
The pair danced the Foxtrot to Nat King Cole’s timeless Let There Be Love. The Foxtrot is quite a romantic, slow and controlled dance which will work perfectly for love week. Patrick talked for a while about the memories of his father playing Nat King Cole records and vowed to give a great performance.
Anya started off the routine perched on top of the grand piano, then joined Patrick for the dance. It’s an elegant affair, but unfortunately not very exciting. The crowd cooed in all the right places, but I thought Patrick’s spin with Anya was actually a bit awkward. On a positive note, the ending was where they finally showed some chemistry.
Last week, Patrick & Anya scored a total of 27 points. Craig told him that he had to tuck his bottom under…
- Bruno Tonioli: “There were moments of dash and moments that were a little bit more restrained.”
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I would like to see a little bit more movement across the floor…but you are style.”
- Darcey Bussell: “You brought panache and class to this. I wasn’t expecting that at all. I’d like you to take some more risks and not be so safe.”
- Len Goodman: “I thought it had and ease and an elegance about it. You’ve got style with a smile. Well done.”
Speaking to Tess following his dance, Patrick said:”I’d love to recreate anything Gene Kelly does.”
Both Patrick & Anya received a combined score of 27 with a 6 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 7 from Darcey Bussell, a 7 from Len Goodman and a 7 from Bunro Tonioli.
