Back from the brink of elimination last week, Mark Benton and his professional partner Iveta Lukosuite danced the Jive to You Can’t Stop the Beat from Hairspray – a song that Mark should be accustomed to.
In his VT, Mark said that he struggled with last weekend as he failed to get it together properly. The worst thing was feeling like he had let Iveta down. “I want to do what me and Iveta to best, which is have fun!” he said. Unfortunately, he’s finding it hard keeping up with the Jive this week as it’s very fast.
Mark didn’t have a very good weekend last week as he ended up in the dance-off with Hairy Biker Dave Myers. Overall, his Rumba scored quite a low 23 points. Darcey said his dance was more like a fish finger than goldfiger and Len said that he may have had gold in his finger, but he had a bit of lead in his bum.
They always seem to dress Mark in the WORST costumes, don’t they? This week was the turn of a bright red suit… you wouldn’t have lost him in the bright lights of Blackpool with that on, anyway. The pair definitely used the whole floor for the dance, but not the most technically-filled dance of the night. Could Mark be in trouble this week?
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I thought it was a little flat-footed and stumpy to be honest. It looked like you had flipped on the end of your legs. I know it’s entertaining, but I’m really looking for a lot more technique”.
- Darcey Bussell: “It was a show-stopped performance. If you could just get your weight forward, you could get on the balls of your foot. For me, I loved it”.
- Len Goodman: “Well Blackpool is a place you come for fun and I have to say, it was fun… big, brass, noisy and fabulous to watch”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “What you gave is a fantastic, fun ride that put the feel-good factor through the roof. You danced more than you ever have, it could have been sharper but I had a wonderful time watching your performance”.
Mark & Iveta received a combined score of 29 with a 5 from Craig, an 8 from Darcey, an 8 from Len and an 8 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:15pm with the all important results on BBC One.
