Strictly Come Dancing

It was revealed last night that Rachel Riley had become the latest casualty of the fast paced show that is Strictly Come Dancing.

The queen of numbers ended up in the bottom two with Abbey Clancy after Saturday night’s Halloween spectacular. The latter came as a surprise to everyone as she scored 34 points, and Craig even told her it was “impressive”/

Prior to being given the boot last night, Darcey told both Abbey and Rachel: “Both couples performed even better tonight, so it’s very difficult”.

Bruno Tonioli added: “It’s very difficult because you both did very, very well”.

Reflecting on her time on the show, Rachel said: “I haven’t cried until now, I have made some amazing friends, I really enjoyed tonight, I really enjoyed yesterday’s dance so I’m really pleased to go out on a high.

“Abbey is just gorgeous, a gorgeous dancer, a gorgeous girl and I have no shame in getting knocked out to her. I have just loved it – from the make-up, to the hair – the whole show”.

Speaking about her professional dance partner, Pasha Kovalev, Rachel added: “He is just the nicest person in the world. He couldn’t have looked after me better, it has just been an absolute pleasure”.

Pasha also had nothing but praise for Rachel, adding that the pair “started from zero and look where we are now”.

Following the vote-off on Sunday evening, Rachel took to Twitter to thank her fans, and to also set up a post-Strictly support group with cake!

“Trying to catch up with all the tweets but so many! You’ve stopped me crying… for now! Best experience ever can’t thank @PashaKovalev enough,” she wrote.

Rachel also joked that she was going to set up a Strictly support group for all the eliminated contestants, writing: “Same goes for you @DeborahMeaden I’ll set up the post Strictly support group in the morning, there will be cake :-)”.

Pasha also took to Twitter to write: “@RachelRileyRR it was our best performance of the series in the dance off in my opinion. You loved dancing so much and I’m sorry it’s over”.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday (November 9) at 6:30pm, in which the contestants will be marking Remembrance Day. The results show follows on Sunday (November 10) at 7:20pm on BBC One/HD.
