This evening, news reader Susanna Reid took to the dance floor with her professional partner Kevin Clifton to perform the Argentine Tango to Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal’.
In her VT, Susanna said it would be a dream to make it to the semi-finals. To prep them for the Argentine Tango this evening, Kevin brought in some dancers from Thriller.
Last week wasn’t Sophie’s best week as she only managed to score a total of 33 points. Craig said her footwork was sloppy and it looked completely out of sync. Len on the other hand disagreed saying it was a “blockbuster of a Quickstep”.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I disagree with the rest of the judges. There is something a bit strange seeing a newsreader running her hands up her legs, that was a little uncomfortable. But, I really loved the routine and you did a great job with that particular piece of music”.
- Darcey Bussell: “The Argentine Tango… I just loved that bit when you was stuck forehead to forehead. It could have maybe been crisper in the moves and there were a lot of intricate moves around the dance floor. I missed the flavour, that’s al that as missing”.
- Len Goodman: “The steps were there but it lacked mood and atmosphere for me”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “A lot of time, I thought you were left there strutting your stuff. The Argentine Tango has to have the feeling of a conversation – an action and a reaction. It was slightly mechanical and I’d have like to have seen you a little more involved with each other”.
Susanna & Kevin received a combined score of 32 with an 8 from Craig, an 8 from Darcey, an 8 from Len and an 8 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow evening with the all important results show.
