This evening, Patrick Robinson and his professional partner Anya Garnis took to the dance floor to perform the Rumba to ‘When I Was Your Man’ by Bruno Mars.
In his Vt, Patrick said that the Charleston was so full on last week and to make it to the semis next week would be “incredible”. This week, it’s the turn of the Rumba and Anya is very worried about it as it’s hard for males to master.
Patrick had a good week last week as he scored three 10s from the judges with Craig giving him an 8 for his Charleston. Craig explained that he “absolutely loved” the first part of the dance but he lost his stability toward the end. Len said it was full of “flash, bang and wallop” whilst Darcey added that it was “fast” and “wild”.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “Yes, I’m feeling the love. The hip action was very good, you were fantastically strong for Anya and you were in the right place at the right time. It was a little desperate and aggressive… if you’d have calmed it down ever so slightly, it would have come across as love instead of having an argument with your wife of 10 years”.
- Darcey Bussell: “You weren’t in pursuit of your lady, you were in control of your lady – it’s as though none of us existed in this room and you really gave us something we hadn’t seen before”.
- Len Goodman: “It’s a ballroom not a bedroom and it all sort of got a bit too full on. It’s a romance, not too full on and having said that, you got your hip action going good there.”
- Bruno Tonioli: “I don’t care what everyone else thinks – passion works! What it had, it felt sometimes like you were watching a movie… I thought it had light and shade”.
Patrick & Anya received a combined score of 36 with an 8 from Craig, a 10 from Darcey, a 9 from Len and a 9 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow evening with the all important results show.
