Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Is Matt Willis heading to the ballroom?

by Emily H

Matt Willis is revealing that he’s been asked to head to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom – but will he really do it?

Matt spoke out about being asked to join the BBC show during a recent interview with his Busted bandmates on Good Morning Britain this morning but confessed that there’s actually little chance of us seeing the pop star actually don a sparkly top and spandex.

Confirming that he’s been asked “a couple of times” by producers, Willis said that he’s always turned down the chance in the past because he’d be “too nervous” to strut his stuff in the ballroom.

“I don’t know how they do it. I watch it all the time and I think it’s amazing, but I can’t dance at all,” he continued of why he said a firm no when the Strictly producers came knocking.

“I’d dance at a wedding for a laugh, but I couldn’t do it,” he continued. “I’d be too nervous, I’d forget my moves.”

But while we probably won’t be seeing Willis on the show anytime soon, fans will be seeing some new faces.

Ahead of the upcoming series there’s been a whole lot of shuffling when it comes to the professional dancers as a number of regulars have announced that they’ll be leaving the show.

Professionals Joanne Clifton, Oksana Platero and Natalie Lowe have all confirmed that they will not be appearing on the upcoming series, which means the BBC will be bringing in some fresh faces when the new series debuts later this year.
