Abbey Clancy and her professional partner Aljaz Dkorjanec took the Strictly dance floor by storm tonight as she danced the Quickstep to Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and The Waves.
Last week, Abbey was worried that she was in the bottom two a couple of weeks ago even with high scores, so even if she did well last week, there was no security for her. Although, it’s special to be in Blackpool so she can’t wait to dance this evening. To help get a right feel for the old school dancing, Aljaz took her to get some advice at a tea-dance.
Last week, Abbey and her partner danced an incredible Charleston and scored a total of 36 points. Len told her that it was “Beautiful” whilst Craig praised her for not doing the Charleston quietly, instead “it was loud and proud”.
Abbey’s Quickstep this week had a seaside theme so it… appropriate since they’re near the worst beach in Britain (have you ever been to Blackpool beach?) Abbey is at the top of her game again this week with the Quickstep and it certainly lived up to its name. Very quick and lively.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “There was a lot of gapping throughout, you chin was too far down, the frame was loose throughout. In the Charleston sections, you were completely dancing with both arms. It’s minor details, although I absolutely loved it”.
- Darcey Bussell: “Abbey, I think for a tall and leggy lady like you, you showed us how well you handle those quick moves. There was only one tiny bit where you got excited and your elbows were out. However, you travelled with control across that floor”.
- Len Goodman: “If you were a stick of Blackpool rock, you’d have ‘talent’ written right through you. The way you moved around that floor, the speed, the clarity of the movement, it was brilliant”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “That really was a quickstep on pleasure beach. You deserve a refreshment and it can only be champagne for Abbey. The content was out of this world. It was un-be-liev-able”.
Abbey & Aljaz received a combined score of 37 with a 7 from Craig, a 10 from Darcey, a 10 from Len and a 10 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:15pm with the all important results on BBC One.
