For his first dance of the evening, Patrick Robinson and his professional partner Anya Garnis took to the dance floor and performed the Waltz to Righteous Brothers ‘Unchained Melody’.
“The Rumba I was pretty apprehensions about as I couldn’t get the steps, but then there was a moment that was really lovely,” he said in his VT. Top be the top of the leader board was special last week, but it didn’t get easier as he ended up in the bottom two last week.
On last week’s show, Patrick was told that his Rumba was just a tad too full on. “If you’d have calmed it down ever so slightly, it would have come across as love instead of having an argument with your wife of 10 years,” Craig told him. Bruno went on to say that he didn’t care what the other judges had to say as he thought it as passionate and “passion works”.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I thought it was really gorgeous. It could have a stronger heel lead but the flow around the floor was absolutely amazing”.
- Darcey Bussell: “For me the improvement in your top line and frame was so improved. But, the charmy my waltz!”
- Len Goodman: “As the song says – lonely rivers flow to the see – that had the most lovely flow and movement to it. Your upper body and frame was very good. Last week I complained as you was stepping forward too much on your heels, but this week you didn’t step forward enough”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “Patrick, look at you, how smart. The sense of distinction you brought to the stage – you placed it so well. I could see you took so much care in getting it right. I know it’s a semi-final and you get a little bit tense… but don’t tighten up!”
Patrick & Anya received a combined score of 36 with a 9 from Craig, a 9 from Darcey, a 9 from Len and a 9 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening with the all important result. But, who is going to make it to the finale next week?
