The ever-brilliant and ever-refreshing Susanna Reid took to the dance floor this evening to dance the Waltz with her professional partner Kevin Clifton. The pair danced it to Whitney Houston’s ‘You Light Up My life’
Susanna said she was so excited to do the Charleston last week, and sometimes she gets a little overwhelmed when she gets good comments. This week, it’s the turn of the Waltz, which means that when she and Kevin approach something romantic, it gets a little silly… Chris Hollins surprised Susanna this week at rehearsals.
Last week, the pair amazed the judges with their Charleston, scoring a total of 34 points. Len said it was full of content and Craig said that she took full advantage of the freedom she had last week.
Susanna looked amazing this evening in her dress, starting the dance on her own centre stage. The Waltz embodied just about everything this week; it was choreographed well and it was very romantic.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I could not agree more, you brought that frock you life. The hesitation moments were beautifully help, a full circle of pivot… I loved it”.
- Darcey Bussell: “She sure will! The boys are so right, the precision in your tumble turns were on point… I would love you to stretch even further, never look comfortable”.
- Len Goodman: “It pleased me indeed. This was the most fantastic performance, you light up my life and you lit up this ballroom”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “You have such a sense of timeless elegancy and those spins were heavenly. You spun everyone into heaven with you with this dance”.
Both Susanna & Kevinreceived a combined score of 36 with a 9 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 9 from Darcey Bussell, a 9 from Len Goodman and a 9 from Bruno Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm on BBC One.
