This evening, Ashley Taylor Dawson and his professional partner Ola Jordan took to the dance floor at Blackpool as they danced the Paso Doble to Bon Jovi’s You Give Love a Bad Name.
“Last week was a great week, my posture was good and I actually enjoyed the dance,” Ashley said in his VT. He’s happy that he made Ola proud last week and as long as he is improving, he is going in the right direction. “Ashley has to be a masculine, dark and cold cowboy,” explained Ola.
Last week, Ashley and Ola scored a total of 35 points. His Quickstep earned high praise from the judges with Craig telling him he had “fantastic energy” and Bruno added that with a “bit of spit and polish” sparks were flying everywhere.
As always, Ola looked DAZZLING this week, although I’m not too sure about Ashley’s outfit. He was showing a bit of chest, so we’ll just have to see how many grumpy viewers pick up the phone to Ofcom… Out of hold, Ashley is actually a really good dancer and he’s even better in hold. He needn’t have worried about the dance as he pulled it off perfectly.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “A cowboy defending himself with a cape doesn’t really do it for me, to be honest. Each to his own. The idea was a bit bizarre, but I’m into the bizarre and I thought that was extraordinary”
- Darcey Bussell: “The Paso Doble is all about a man and being strong and having attitude. You had that attack, you created some strong lines, the shapes was there. I just would have loved some more drama”.
- Len Goodman: “I thought you got stronger and stronger. Ashley, it’s two in a row. You’ve come back stronger than ever. What I love is seeing that speed and then the stillness. Ashley, it takes a lot to get me shocked and I’m surprised how strongly you danced that”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “Oh yes! The lone ranger is back with a vengeance. That was fully loaded, powerful with plenty of thrust. You had the light and shade and you never lost the foot. You were on it all the way through”.
Ashley and Ola received a combined score of 35 with an 8 from Craig, a 9 from Darcey, a 9 from Len and a 9 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:15pm with the all important results on BBC One.
