It’s the semi-final and for the remaining five candidates a trip overseas as they are told to pack their passports and meet at London City airport.
Their destination… Amsterdam – one of Europe’s cultural capitals. Their task is to meet with six emerging Dutch designers and pick two products that they will pitch to UK retailers in the hope of bringing high sales back to the boardroom. PM on Instinct is Kirsty with Arjun heading up Revolution – but who will prove to be the clever clogs in Amsterdam?
EMMA AND ZOE GRILL DESIGNERS WHEN THEY GO DUTCH ON A RUTHLESS INTERROGATION
The designers will need to show Dutch courage as they come face to face with the Emma and Zoe for a strict grilling during this week’s task. A ruthless Emma says: “As someone who designs the product surely you should know what the function of the product is” leaving the bemused designer lost for words.
After watching his team’s uncompromising interrogation, PM Arjun says: “When we were speaking to the designers I think that Emma and Zoe were very rude to them.”
Karren Brady adds: “I’m surprised the people pitching haven’t run out screaming and in tears!”
BOTH TEAMS TARGET THE SAME PRODUCT – WILL THEY REACH A NEGOTIATION?
After seeing all six designers, Revolution go for the Keptin Jr range of baby accessories as their first choice product while Revolution opt for the Royal VKB homeware but when both teams decided on Batavus bikes as their second option the teens are soon at loggerheads over who gets it.
With both teams refusing to back down Kirsty comments: “I think Revolution’s approach to the negotiation is a little bit pathetic” while over on the opposition Arjun says “I’m not going to let them say they can have their ones and we have got to choose a separate one. I’m not having that.”
With a second round of negotiations completed, Revolution eventually agree to sell the low cost baby products and homeware with Instinct selling high priced bikes and pet accessories – but who has got the better deal?
TEAM WORK COLLAPSES AS ZOE AND ARJUN COLLIDE
PM Arjun struggles to tame the maverick Zoe during this week’s task and the cracks soon show as Revolution struggle to show a united front. Arjun comments: “I see Zoe as a very selfish person; someone who is solely here for herself. She doesn’t take direction very well.”
After an awkward first pitch from Zoe, Arjun decides to do the second pitch himself but will their brewing collision affect their performance?
Meanwhile over on Instinct, another awkward pitch leaves Kirsty admitting: “That was absolutely horrible!”
Tune in to find out who makes it into the final and who will be the next teenager to hear Lord Sugar’s immortal words: You’re Fired!
